At Fridman Family Dental Care in Valencia, CA, Dr. Nardys Fridman and our team use custom porcelain and composite veneers to correct chips, stains, gaps, worn edges and uneven teeth. We see patients from across the Santa Clarita Valley, including Valencia, Saugus, Newhall, Canyon Country, Stevenson Ranch and Castaic, as well as patients who travel from the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles and Palmdale.

What are veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells bonded to the front surface of your teeth. They change the color, shape, size or length of a tooth, and they can make teeth that are slightly crooked or spaced look straight and even, without braces.

Many of our veneer cases start with Digital Smile Design, so you can preview your new smile and fine-tune it with us before any treatment begins.

Types of Veneers We Offer

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are made by a dental laboratory from high-quality ceramic. They are strong, resist staining and reflect light like natural enamel, which makes them the most natural-looking and longest-lasting option.

Composite Veneers

Composite veneers are made from tooth-colored resin sculpted directly on your teeth, often in a single visit. They cost less and require little or no removal of tooth structure, but they are not as stain-resistant or durable as porcelain.

Veneers, bonding or crowns?

Bonding is ideal for one or two small chips or gaps. Veneers are best when you want to change the look of several front teeth. A crown is better when a tooth is weak, heavily filled or has had a root canal. We will recommend what protects your teeth and gives you the result you want.

The Veneer Process

  1. Consultation and smile design – we examine your teeth and gums, talk about the look you want and, where it helps, preview your result with Digital Smile Design.
  2. Preparation – for porcelain veneers, a thin layer of enamel is gently reshaped and your teeth are scanned so your veneers fit precisely.
  3. Fit and bonding – we check the fit, shape and shade with you before bonding your veneers in place and polishing your new smile.
  4. Aftercare – regular checkups keep your veneers and the gums around them healthy.

Veneers FAQs

How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or longer with good care. Composite veneers usually need refreshing or replacing sooner.

Are veneers reversible?

Porcelain veneers usually require removing a thin layer of enamel, so they are considered permanent: if a veneer is removed, it needs to be replaced. Some composite veneers need little or no tooth preparation.

Do veneers need special care?

Brush and floss as usual and keep up with regular checkups. Avoid biting very hard objects, and wear a night guard if you grind your teeth.

Can veneers fix every problem?

No. Veneers work best on healthy teeth. Large cavities, gum disease or a bad bite need to be treated first, and badly crooked teeth may do better with clear aligners before or instead of veneers.

Should I whiten my teeth before getting veneers?

Often, yes. Veneers do not whiten, so whitening your other teeth first lets us match your veneers to your brighter shade.

Does insurance cover veneers?

Veneers are usually considered cosmetic and are not covered, but we will check your benefits for you and go over financing options.
